1/125 f/1.8, ISO 1600, hand held. Maldive, Maldives. Specie: Manta birostris

Questa foto è stata realizzata di notte, senza i flash. I subacquei si posizionano in un ampio cerchio in ginocchio sulla sabbia del fondo (qui a -14 mt). Puntano le torcie verso la superficie. Io ho utilizzato una lampada led da 6000 lumen (10 volte una torcia normale) sulla slitta flash sempre rivolta verso l'alto. Insieme alla "lampara" situata sull'imbarcazione in superficie si attirano in questo modo nuvole di plancton che a loro volta attirano la manta. Le evoluzioni e i passaggi avvengono normalmente dove si concentra maggiormente il plancton e in questo l'aiuto di una forte lampada è stato fondamentale. La presenza però dell'altissima concentrazione di cibo rende l'acqua lattiginosa con grave perdita di nitidezza e il sensorino da 1' e i 1600 ISO necessari per la foto hanno fatto il resto ma come dilettante questa foto, che condivido con voi, mi ha reso felice.
