La Ford Thunderbird fu costruita dalla Ford Motor Company sita a Dearborn nei pressi di Detroit nello Stato del Michigan (USA) dal 1955 al 2005 in 11 Serie nelle versioni Cabriolet (questa visibile nella fotografia), Berlina, Coupé, Sport Roadster e Landau... quest'ultima con il tetto non verniciato ma ricoperto in vinile. La 1° Serie fu costruita dal 1955 al 1957 e proprio in questo ultimo anno la vettura venne aggiornata nei paraurti, nella calandra anteriore e nelle pinne laterali posteriori... modifiche visibili nella vettura proposta in questa fotografia. I motori disponibili erano due V8: uno di 4800 cm3 ed un'altro di 5100 cm3... quest'ultimo disponibile anche dotato di compressore Paxton - McCulloch così che le potenze disponibili andavano da 212 a 340 cavalli. Il cambio di velocità poteva essere automatico oppure con comando manuale a 3 marce più la retromarcia. Questa fotografia fu scattata notte tempo con l'ausilio di un lampeggiatore Metz 45 CT-1.
