Ci sono piccoli dettagli che portano alla scoperta di strutture del passato in stile medievale (medioevo terminato nel 1520) come questo breve camminamento coperto, se consideriamo che un lato del chiostro e il Santuario è confinante con un abitato antecedente, di architettura medievale si tratta. Il Santuario infatti venne costruito tra il 1536 e il 1552, in seguito ad un evento miracoloso: si dice infatti che in questo luogo, il 16 luglio 1535, la Vergine Maria apparse ad una pastorella.
