Era l'ultimo giorno anzi l'ultima notte di viaggio ed ero abbastanza soddisfatto dello spettacolo offerto la notte precedente dall'aurora boreale. Sulla strada del ritorno al lodge mi sono fermato ad un incrocio, ho abbassato il finestrino dell'auto ed ho voluto salutare l'aurora con una veloce fotografia con lo smartphone. Proprio in quel momento l'aurora si intensifica notevolmente e decido di scendere nuovamente per fotografare. Mentre mi dirigo verso il baule noto una forte luce proveniente dal bosco ed in pochi attimi si alza una fantastica aurora. In fretta e furia apro il treppiede ed inizio a comporre prendendo come riferimento il profilo degli alberi. Lo spettacolo è fantastico non se concentrarmi sulla fotocamera (non ho modificato il fuoco che incredibilmente è rimasto fermo sulle impostazioni precedenti) o guardare il cielo... Guardo il cielo. Lo spettacolo sarà durato poco più di un minuto dopodiché l'aurora ripiega su un modesto arco luminoso. Sono le due passate, ho mezz'ora di strada per tornare al lodge, devo preparare i bagagli, provare a riposarmi un po' e risvegliarmi alle 7 per percorrere 240 km che mi separano dall'aeroporto di Rovaniemi.
