Recentemente ho riaperto le fotografie dell'ultimo viaggio a Madrid pre-pandemia e tra le immagini più significative è emerso questo scatto ritraente un personaggio alquanto pittoresco del mercato cittadino El Rastro: un esperto mercante di antiquariato nell'atto di concludere una travagliata negoziazione per la vendita di una cornice. Ricordo che mi interessai istintivamente alla situazione ed avvicinandomi scattai dal basso per evitare di entrare nella scena. Il risultato è una fotografia storta, ma abbastanza efficace. Ho voluto riproporre l'immagine a colori (ai tempi l'avevo pubblicata in bianco e nero) perchè il colore trasmette maggiormente l'idea del marasma di quei vicoletti pieni di gente ed oggetti stravaganti.
