Era l'edificio più importante dell'antico villaggio di Nalut, deposito di granaglie e cereali, ma soprattutto fortino nel quale rifugiarsi all'avvicinarsi di una minaccia. All'interno della costruzione, risalente a 1000 anni fa, si alzano pareti traforate da celle, un grandioso alveare disposto su cinque o sei piani. Ne sono state contate circa 300 di queste celle, raggiungibili con pioli infissi nelle pareti che permettevano di spostarsi da una parte all'altra. Ogni famiglia del villaggio disponeva di un certo numero di "ripostigli" e un custode veniva scelto per custodire la mappa del granaio sulla quale erano indicati i proprietari o gli affittuari dei singoli spazi.
