Qual è il peso della nostra presenza in questo mondo? La Natura si deve adattare ai nostri bisogni invece di vivere noi in completa armonia con la nostra stessa madre? Ho riscoperto i luoghi vicini a casa, luoghi intatti, caratterizzati dalla libertà di quei posti che non sono ancora stati presi così ferocemente d'assalto dalla massa. Quando sono giunta davanti a questo incredibile salto c'era una sorpresa ad attendermi: per la prima volta in vita mia sono entrata nel bacino di una cascata completamente asciutta e vuota. La sensazione è stata stordente, come trovarsi su un altro pianeta. Le enormi rocce mi circondavano nel più assoluto ed assordante silenzio, mentre una fredda brezza si muoveva come un'anima viva in quel letto vuoto. Il fiume che le da vita è deviato per la maggior parte dell'anno per dare potenza ad una centrale idroelettrica nelle vicinanze. L'acqua è presente soltanto nei mesi di maggiore interesse ed afflusso turistico, quali luglio e agosto. Madre Natura è diventata uno spettacolo venduto al miglior offerente.
