LA BATTAGLIA DIFENSIVA
Durante la stasi invernale, la nostra organizzazione difensiva venne rafforzata con lavori in roccia, trinceramenti, postazioni e reticolati, in previsione di altri e più massicci attacchi.
La grande battaglia, dall'Astico al mare, che prese poi il nome di Battaglia del Solstizio, si accese nella notte del 15 giugno 1918. Anche al centro, nel settore del VI C.A., il nemico attacca direttamente Cima Grappa da più direzioni; a destra, nel settore del XVIII Corpo, dopo ripetuti attacchi e contrattacchi, riesce ad affermarsi sulla linea Solarolo - Valderoa.
