It is clear that I applied the noise reduction, more determined in the background, and selective and very sensitive on some parts of the Owl, with Photoshop CS6.
During shooting was inevitable to freeze the action to keep the iso higher than usual, it was already late afternoon, and the sky was covered with clouds.
Beyond this shot dynamic, in the course of the day I did several tests by raising and lowering the iso, and analyzed the files to the PC, I concluded that in low light, 4000/5000 iso are already well on the edge of success. While with good light, you can easily spingere over.

@Alago: Grazie, ne sono molto contento della resa agli alti iso della D4, se non l'hai già fatto guarda anche le altre foto della galleria, due delle quali sono a iso 5000.
È chiaro che ho applicato la riduzione rumore, più decisa sullo sfondo, e selettiva e molto delicata, su alcune parti del Gufo, con Photoshop Cs6.
In fase di scatto era inevitabile per congelare l'azione tenere gli iso più alti del solito, era già pomeriggio inoltrato, ed il cielo era coperto da nubi.
Al di là di questo scatto dinamico, nel corso della giornata ho fatto diverse prove alzando ed abbassando gli iso, e analizzati i file al pc, ho dedotto che con scarsa luce, 4000/5000 iso sono già molto al limite di buona riuscita. Mentre con buona luce, ci si può tranquillamente spingere oltre.
