La Bugatti Veyron EB (Ettore Bugatti) 16.4 fu costruita sia in versione Coupè... questa nella fotografia che fu scattata sotto la pioggia... che in versione Cabriolet, nello storico stabilimento della Bugatti Automobiles a Molsheim in Alsazia, in Francia... ora di proprietà del Gruppo Wolksvagen Aktiengesellschaft. Furono costruite circa 450 automobili... di cui circa 300 in versione coupè... tra il 2005 ed il 2015. Equipaggiata di serie della trazione integrale era dotata di ben 10 radiatori per raffreddare il poderoso propulsore e non solo. Il suo motore, in posizione posteriore centrale, era dotato di 16 cilindri disposti a coppie di 4 su due bancate a V di 90° ed aveva una cilindrata totale di 7993 cm3 sviluppante 1001 cavalli nella versione base. Era dotato di 4 turbocompressori. La versione coupè raggiungeva i 407/408 chilometri orari di velocità massima. Nelle versioni Super Sport e Grand Sport Vitessenel prodotte nel 2010 la potenza sviluppata dal propulsore arrivava a 1200 cavalli e la velocità massima saliva oltre i 435 chilometri orari. Il nome della vettura... Veyron... omaggia il pilota francese Pierre Veyron (1903 - 1970) che insieme all'altro pilota francese Jean Pierre Wimille (1908 - 1949) a bordo di una Bugatti Type 57 vinsero la 16° edizione della 24 Ore di Le Mans corsa nei giorni di sabato 17 e domenica 18 giugno nel 1939. Riguardo alla manutenzione ordinaria di questa Veyron... un cambio dell'olio motore... consigliato una volta all'anno... richiedeva un'esborso di circa 17/18 mila euro... in quanto essendo il sistema di lubrificazione a carter secco si doveva svuotare e rabboccare singolarmente ognuno dei 16 cilindri... cosa che poteva avvenire solo dopo aver smontato diverse parti della carrozzeria e rimosso le ruote posteriori. La sostituzione dei 4 performanti pneumatici costruiti dalla Michelin sfiorava poi i 30 mila euro mentre il loro chilometraggio percorribile andava dai 4 ai 9 mila chilometri... data la potenza sviluppata dall'esuberante propulsore. Ogni 15 mila chilometri circa erano pure da sostituire i cerchi ruota (circa 100 mila euro per tutti e 4) per evitare che nelle brusche accellerazioni gli pneumatici girassero sui cerchi.
