La nebulosa NGC 7000, detta anche Nord America per via della sua forma, nella costellazione del Cigno. Una formazione gassosa ricca principalmente di idrogeno, nella quale hanno avuto e stanno avendo vita nuove stelle. La distanza di questo oggetto celeste, relativamente vicino, è di circa 1960 anni luce, per farci un'idea, se qualcuno da quelle parti potesse riprenderci, nello stesso istante in cui io sto scrivendo, potrebbe vedere Roma ai tempi di Nerone. L'immagine è il risultato di 30 scatti da 5 minuti ciascuno, ottenuti con una camera raffreddata a -10°C (ASI 183 MC-Pro) e il tubo ottico Celestron RASA 8 (400mm di focale a f/2).
