Sono stato in questa landa pianeggiante che si tuffa nel mare chiuso dell'Olanda battutta da venti fortissimi circa 15 anni fa con la mia fidanzata oggi moglie. Allora era un giornata buia con il cielo grigio ma il vento forte era sempre presente. La pianura era punteggiata da oche ed il tutto rappresentava un quadro nord europeo. Sono voluto tornare con tutta la famiglia in una giornata di sole nuvole ombre e luci con l'immancabile vento del nord…questo è il risultato! Scusate l'ora in cui ho fatto la foto ma la location non era proprio dietro l'angolo e poi le mattine all'alba le dedicavo all'altra mia grande passione gli aeroplani e l'aeroporto di Amsterdam è veramente fantastico. La stazione di pompaggio del polder di Schellinkhout è stata costruita nel 1900 come stazione di pompaggio ausiliaria per la stazione di pompaggio situata accanto alla stazione di pompaggio De Groote Molen. Il design è dell'architetto K. Swagerman. Nel 1913 la stazione di pompaggio rilevò il drenaggio principale del polder Schellinkhout. In quell'anno nella stazione di pompaggio fu installato un "motore a petrolio greggio semi-diesel". L'acqua in eccesso dal polder è stata scaricata attraverso la stazione di pompaggio nel primo Zuiderzee e più tardi in esso IJsselmeer. Dopo il Seconda Guerra Mondiale la stazione di pompaggio è stata elettrificata. La stazione di pompaggio è stata dismessa, ma le macchine sono ancora presenti nell'edificio. La data di fondazione "1900" è incorporata sotto forma di chiave di volta nell'arco sopra la porta di fronte. Proprio sopra c'è il nome Stazione di pompaggio Polder Schellinkhout in pietra naturale nella facciata. C'è un'ancora ornamentale nel timpano rettangolare.
