L'Alfa romeo 6C 1750 venne prodotta in diverse versioni e varianti dal 1929 al 1933: alcune furono preparate dalle Carrozzerie Zagato e Touring site in Milano. La vettura era dotata di un motore con 6 cilindri in linea di 1752 cm3 che erogava differenti potenze in base al tipo di elaborazione. Codeste andavano dai 46 cavalli della Versione Berlina ai 102 delle Versioni Sportive più spinte e dotate di compressore volumetrico Roots che oltrepassavano i 165 chilometri orari di velocità massima. Negli anni in cui questa 6C 1750 GS correva veloce nelle gare su strada... capitava pure di dover affrontare insidiosi percorsi durante le ore notturne... questo perché in quell'epoca l'illuminazione sulle strade era veramente carente... se non completamente assente... Per avere una buona illuminazione... in base alle conoscenze tecniche dell'epoca... le vetture venivano dotate di fari anteriori con parabole alquanto grandi che però spesso creavano disagio all'equipaggio perché andavano a compromettere l'aerodinamica del mezzo e così... per recuperare codesta durante il giorno... si iniziò a dotare questi enormi fanali anteriori di coperture aerodinamiche semisferiche che... essendo removibili... venivano tolte se si doveva gareggiare durante la notte. Questa fotografia venne scattata verso sera... difatti la vettura... che stava arrivando ad un controllo orario... aveva acceso i fanali... con ancora sopra le coperture aerodinamiche... che sarebbero state tolte poco dopo durante una breve sosta. Sulle Alfa Romeo... per codeste coperture di materiale acetato "quasi" plastico... si pensò di adottare il colore rosso.
