Questa fotografia fu scattata nel giorno in cui Franco Forini esordì come pilota in Formula 1 alla guida della 2° vettura della Osella… a poche gare dalla fine del Campionato del 1987. Di quel giorno ricordo che sia noi fotografi che i giornalisti presenti eravamo… come di solito… impegnati presso le scuderie più performanti. Poi… dopo le solite foto di rito… mi misi "a caccia" di qualcosa di nuovo e così mi avviai verso la fine della corsia box dove era locato anche quello della Osella e quando Franco mi vide arrivare si mise in disparte pensando che il mio unico interesse fosse per la sua vettura. Nel mentre… visto che con la "coda dell'occhio" ognuno controllava perennemente gli altrui movimenti… qualcuno si accorse dei miei ed in pochissimo tempo la moltitudine dei fotografi arrivò al box dell'Osella così che Franco… inaspettatamente… si trovò circondato. Sentendo tutti i rumori prodotti dai motor drive delle fotocamere che scattavano fotografie… immortalandolo… si emozionò un tantino ed i suoi occhi divennero lucidi. Penso che quel nostro ritrarlo… per lui inatteso… gli abbia regalato un grandissimo momento. Purtroppo Franco non frequentò a lungo i circuiti della Formula 1 dove partecipò a soli 2 Gran Premi… che non riuscì a terminare per guasti meccanici… mentre in un altro non riuscì a qualificarsi. Nato nel 1958 in Svizzera aveva iniziato a gareggiare con i Kart per poi passare ai Campionati Europeo ed Italiano di Formula 3 dove in quest'ultimo vinse il Titolo nel 1985 alla guida di una vettura della Forti Corse poi… nel 1986… gareggiò in Formula 3000 alla guida di una Marec 86 B motorizzata Ford Cosworth DVF. Dopo la Formula 1… nel biennio 1988-89… tornò a gareggiare in Formula 3 nei Campionati Italiano e Tedesco per poi riapparire nel 1993 nel Campionato Rally in Svizzera. Questa mia immagine che lo ritrae è stata scannerizzata da materiale analogico. La fotocamera utilizzata fu una Canon F1 New dotata di un'obiettivo Canon FD 80-200 f 4 e caricata con pellicola Kodacolor 100 ASA. Il tempo di scatto ed il diaframma indicati sotto la fotografia non sono da tenere in considerazione.
