Tutto è nato da un'idea: perchè non ambientare il Martin pescatore?! Tutto attorno a lui era uno spettacolo, il torrente Avisio, il bosco come cornice e la Paganella in fondo a completare l'opera. Molte le difficoltà a partire dalla scelta della lunghezza focale, troppi millimetri avrebbero escluso parte del paesaggio, troppo pochi non avrebbero valorizzato il soggetto. Altro problema riscontrato era il click dello scatto e la presenza di un corpo estraneo, la D3s. Un fattore determinante per la buona riuscita dello scatto era la luce. Il cielo doveva essere sereno e il sole illuminare il soggetto, ma in quella vallata la luce rimane solo per un'oretta scarsa. Molte le uscite a vuoto; quando c'era il sole non c'era il martino e quando c'era il Martino mancava il sole!!
