Il Molino fu fatto costruire tra il 1884 e il 1895 dall'imprenditore svizzero Giovanni Stucky. Nasce dapprima come mulino a vapore (non idraulico) per la produzione di farina. Dava lavoro, a pieno regime, a millecinquecento operai impegnati in turni che coprivano l'intera giornata ed era in grado di macinare, nel periodo di maggiore funzionalità, fino a 2.500 quintali di farina al giorno. Attualmente è adibito ad hotel, ospita 379 camere ed è il più grande centro congressi alberghiero della città. Accoglie anche il più grande centro benessere e la prima ed unica piscina su terrazzo, di Venezia.
