le dune del Namib sono tra le più antiche del mondo e sono costituite da quarzo rosso- si formano principalmente dall'erosione delle rocce del fiume Orange che vengono portate verso l'oceano ma poi sospinte all'interno dai forti venti -alcune raggiungono e superano i 150 m -sulla pista di Sussusvlei
