si dorme poco...insonnia legata all'altitudine- Un po' di colazione e alle 6,15 partiamo per il Cho-la. Da 4.700 m si sale fino a 5.430, ma il divario è maggiore perché durante la salita si perdono circa 150 m . Sono contento e sto abbastanza bene. Tra ombre del mattino e foschie emergono alcune vette bianchissime e illuminate, piccoli fiori congelati, scatto un po di fotografie e ricomincio a salire; senza accorgerne mi trovo avanti da solo. Una strana sensazione mi prende, e piango di gioia pensando ai miei famigliari e ai miei parenti che non ci sono più (ma mi accompagnano) - L'ultimo tratto è ripido ma ormai il passo è buono e dopo poco siamo sulla neve del valico che collega la valle di Gokyo con quella del Kumbhu (la valle dell'Everest )-
