I have always been intrigued by croppi photos and the technique in post to make them. I was looking for something quick to use on photos already taken, thus leaving out of the discussion the shooting phase, which is obviously crucial to have suitable images.
For me "fast" means such as to stay in Lightroom, which however has an inflexible curve editor as in PS. In the end I found a simple procedure that allows you to easily play with this type effect.
On the same day I also posted another image (Charcoal) that does exactly the opposite: instead of creating large black areas, he reverses them by putting detail where he would have remained hidden.

Sono sempre stato incuriosito dalle foto alla Croppi e alla tecnica in post per realizzarle. Cercavo qualcosa di veloce da usare su foto già fatte, lasciando quindi fuori dal discorso la fase di ripresa, che ovviamente è determinante per avere immagini adatte.
Per me "veloce" vuol dire tale da restare in Lightroom, che però ha un editor di curve non flessibile come in PS. L'editor di curve da solo, in LR non permette di avere zone nere senza impattare su tutta l'immagine.
Alla fine ho trovato una procedura semplice che permette di determinare visivamente il punto di soglia tra nero e il resto senza influenzare la parte non nera (è una combinazione di curva e gradiente con maschera luminosità ).
Nello stesso giorno ho postato anche un'altra immagine (Carboncino) che fa esattamente l'opposto: invece di creare ampie zone nere, le inverte mettendo dettaglio dove sarebbe rimasto nascosto...nella presunzione che somigli ad un ritratto a carboncino.
Due facce molto diverse della stessa (o quasi) tecnica di elaborazione. |
