Il proseguo del racconto è tutto per il ritorno, il passaggio questa volta e dal medioevo al '600 del barocco dei giardini e della villa. All'improvviso lo sguardo si apre sull'asse barocco della Scala Santa, elemento ordinatore del grande parco barocco della Tebaide, che dalla villa di Cetinale sale al Romitorio, luogo in cui il cardinale Flavio Chigi sarebbe salito a meditare in solitudine. Il complesso, progettato da Carlo Fontana nel 1680, è ancora oggi ben conservato.

La salita della "scala santa" è stata impegnativa, affrontata in un orario decente le 18.00 ma come si vede dalle foto il cielo era grigio e con grande afa, anche la discesa è stata impegnativa per la irregolarità dei gradini. Le varie immagini testimoniano le tante soste fatte per recuperare fiato e dilettarsi nel frattempo nell'hobby preferito.
Ricordo che c'è la possibilità di fare le tappe in auto attraverso la strada bianca che sale alla Pieve di Pernina.
