La chiesa del Sacro Cuore del Suffragio, situata in lungotevere Prati, fu costruita in stile gotico nel 1890 dall'architetto Giuseppe Gualandi e fu dedicata al Sacro Cuore in Suffragio delle Anime del Purgatorio. La chiesa, aperta al pubblico il 1° novembre 1917, presenta una facciata, protetta da una bella ed alta cancellata, costituita da un corpo centrale più alto coronato da una serie di edicole tra due guglie L'interno è a tre navate suddivise da pilastri, con un caratteristico pavimento in marmo rosso veronese, bigio e nero con un motivo a spina di pesce entro grandi riquadri. Sul fondo dell'abside è situato l'altare maggiore, disegnato dal Gualandi e realizzato in marmi policromi e bronzi dorati: qui si trova il tabernacolo bronzeo (nella foto 3), pregevole opera di oreficeria. La pala d'altare, posta all'interno di una triplice cornice gotica, raffigura "Nostro Signore del Sacro Cuore" con, ai lati, la "Vergine Maria" e "S.Giuseppe".
