Sacrario Militare di Pian di Salesei. Il piccolo Comune dolomitico di Livinallongo Col di Lana fu uno dei tanti centri abitati distrutti dalla Grande Guerra. Amministrato dall'Impero austro-ungarico, nell'estate del 1915 si ritrovò in prima linea e la montagna che si alza alle sue spalle, il Col di Lana, si trasformò in una delle cime più contese dell'intero conflitto. Proprio qui, nell'aprile del 1916, si registrò lo scoppio di una gigantesca mina italiana nel tentativo di liberare la strada verso il cuore dell'Alto Adige e del Trentino. Luogo simbolico esaltato dal fascismo, a Livinallongo venne disposta la costruzione di un Sacrario al posto del già esistente cimitero militare del Pian di Salesei, nato nel 1922. Oltre ai caduti qui presenti, vennero traslate anche le spoglie di tutti i soldati seppelliti nei piccoli camposanti dolomitici sul Col di Lana e sulla Marmolada. Livinallongo Col di Lana.
