Il Deposito di Santo Chiodo a Spoleto è un luogo dove vengono depositati e, nel caso restaurati, reperti provenienti da chiese, musei, edifici storici e luoghi d'arte in genere che a causa del sisma che ha colpito l'Umbria nel 2016 non possono essere custoditi nei luoghi originari. Vi è così un insieme eterogeneo di opere d'arte: quadri, sculture, arazzi, affreschi e perfino campane in bronzo e rosoni di chiesa. L'insieme di tutte quelle opere d'arte, assorite secondo meri criteri di stoccaggio e conservazione, ce le restituisce sotto una luce nuova. La decontestualizzazione conferisce loro una nuova e inaspettata vita, un significato inedito, a mio avviso a volte addirittura più profondo.
