Questa 128 Rally si può definire la versione sportiva della Fiat 128 Berlina. Fu costruita dal 1971 al 1974... solo in versione a 2 porte... e nel 1972 le venne eseguito un piccolo restyling. Era dotata di un motore a 4 cilindri in linea di 1290 cm3 erogante 67 cavalli di potenza che le facevano raggiungere i 150 chilometri orari di velocità massima. Fu molto apprezzata in ambito sportivo da molti giovani piloti esordienti in quanto il suo prezzo di acquisto era abbastanza abbordabile. Diverse di queste vetture vennero elaborate da esperti preparatori fra cui si possono ricordare la torlnese Abarth e la Giannini Automobili S.p.a. di Roma. Nel 1972 una Fiat 128 Rally ottenne un 1° posto di Categoria al Rally di Montecarlo.
