Lungo la strada che da Castellazzo Novarese conduce a Casaleggio, in aperta campagna, si possono osservare i ruderi di un'antica chiesa dedicata a Sant'Antonio Abate(Santo protettore degli animali,tanto da essere solitamente raffigurato con accanto un maiale che reca al collo una campanella).
Si tratta di una chiesa a tre navate ,isolata nella campagna, perciò non ubicata al diretto servizio di un centroabitato,dotata di torre campanaria,particolare non comune per gli oratori campestri. Forse in origine erano annessi ambienti per l'ospitalità di viandanti e pellegrini o come dice la leggenda era la chiesa parrocchiale di un paese che ormai non esiste più,abbandonato quando i feudatari del territorio decisero di spostare la loro Signoria a Castellazzo, dove eressero il Castello.
Tutti dovettero abbandonare le loro case ed anche il parroco la sua chiesa.Quest'ultimo,persona avarissima,non riusci'piu'a trovare il gruzzolo di monete d'oro che aveva nascosto ed e'per questo che...in alcune notti,si odono pianti disperati tra i ruderi della chiesa:e'
il fantasma del Prevosto alla frenetica ricerca del gruzzolo di monete!

Prendendo l'autostrada puoi uscire a Novara Ovest,prosegui in direzione Valsesia e dopo pochi chilometri troverai alla tua sinistra l'indicazione per Castellazzo.Appena entrato in paese al semaforo giri a sinistra per Casaleggio.
