Il suo ricordo vivrà per sempre... Monumento ad Ayrton Senna da Silva all'interno dell'Autodromo del Santerno intitolato ad Enzo e Dino Ferrari sito a Imola (Bo). La statua è posizionata a pochi metri da dove Ayrton uscì di pista, a causa di un guasto meccanico alla vettura, il 1° maggio del 1994... incontrando il suo nefasto destino... durante il 7° giro del Gran Premio di San Marino. Spesso Senna era soprannominato "Magic" ed anche "Beco". Il giorno precedente... durante le prove cronometrate... aveva perso la vita pure l'austriaco Roland Ratzenberger. Erano trascorsi 12 anni anni dagli ultimi decessi di piloti durante le gare di Formula 1. Nel 1982 erano venuti a mancare Gilles Villeneuve, spesso soprannominato "l'Aviatore", durante le prove del Gran Premio del Belgio a Zolder e Riccardo Paletti durante la partenza del Gran Premio del Canada a Montreal. Dopo quel funesto 1° maggio 1994 nella Massima Categoria vi sarà un solo evento mortale: a seguito dell'incidente avvenuto durante il Gran Premio del Giappone a Suzuka nel 2014... dopo 9 mesi di coma, nel 2015, morirà il pilota francese Jules Bianchi. Dal 1950... anno di istituzione del Campionato del Mondo Costruttori... i piloti deceduti, a seguito di incidenti durante un Gran Premio o precedentemente nei giorni di prova, sono stati 32 mentre altri 12 hanno perso la vita su vetture di Formula 1 durante gare non valide per il Mondiale o in test privati. Da menzionare anche che nell'arco degli anni, nei giorni dei Gran Premi, hanno perso la vita pure 6 addetti alla sicurezza durante l'adempimento del servizio in quanto rimasti coinvolti in incidenti tra vetture. L'obiettivo utilizzato per realizzare questa fotografia è un vecchio Nikon AI 50 mm. f 2 costruito fra il 1977 ed il 1979.
