La chiesetta dedicata a San Sfirio si trova sul Monte Legnoncino, in posizione strategica e panoramica a pochi metri di dislivello dalla cima. Ricostruita nel Settecento, nel luogo dove ne esisteva presumibilmente una del XIII secolo poi distrutta, la chiesetta di San Sfirio è stata rimaneggiata nel corso dei secoli. Il culto di questo santo è legato alla leggenda dei sette fratelli eremiti. Questa leggenda racconta che i fratelli di Santa Margherita si stabilirono a vivere in solitudine e meditazione ognuno su una cima della zona: sul Legnoncino, per l'appunto, si trasferì San Sfirio, il più anziano dei sette. Dai singoli romitaggi i fratelli comunicavano tramite l'accensione di fuochi. Il culto del santo locale Sfirio; molto vivo ancora oggi in Val Varrone e nel colichese: viene festeggiato ogni 17 agosto con una processione alla chiesetta.
