So you used the machine's focus stacking feature... and you're not satisfied?!? never managed to do anything like that... :-o congratulations!
I love spiders and you're very good at portraying them!

-chock-full- no no focus stacking function in the machine, as always all manual also because I believe that the RP disables the flash, but I am not sure because I have never tried it.
I thank you so much for the compliments.

The strangeness of the eyes is to be digested, but the rest, which is a lot of stuff, is to applause!

In my humble opinion with that lens it is already complicated to take a single shot, let alone bring to the end an fs, plus freehand.
As far as the reflection in the eyes is concerned, I do not understand why you should not be satisfied, personally
repute valid the final result. Maybe your ability may lead you to completely eliminate the reflex, but maybe on eyes like this I think it's a little difficult to eliminate it more. I think a slight light point in the eye is more lively to the subject, but that's just my thought.

Alan Ford
Riky
Marco and Pier thank you for appreciating! :-)
Pier I probably misinterpreted myself, writing that I don't like the reflection I didn't mean to say that I wouldn't want it but that I just don't like that reflection :-D
The main reason is that the diffusion is not uniform and therefore the two sources of light are visible (little? but you can see... :-D). In addition, precisely because the light on the eyes gives more vivacity to the subject as you write to me, the problem is that with this "pseudo-diffuser" for my taste the reflection is too small ... To understand the result I would like to achieve with the double flash should be similar to what I usually get with the single flash, which you often see reflected in the eyes of the spiders I photograph and, since there are you could try to do even better 8-) :-D :-D

I really admire your work, a curiosity if I can, of course you are very attached to the subject I saw that you wrote that you do them freehand, I guess you make a burst of a couple of sec right? how do you stay completely still? (the rp is not even stabilized!) do you have a support for elbows?

I like it very, very good technique, also because using a flash with these subjects is really very difficult ... congratulations!
