Vent'anni, tanto tempo è passato dalla pubblicazione del nostro primo libro fotografico avente a che fare col territorio del Ticino. Da allora tante cose sono cambiate, nell'uomo, nella natura, nella fotografia. Nell'uomo è cambiata la visione della natura, per una diversa presa di coscienza, apparentemente benevola, o più semplicemente per una dilagante indifferenza nei confronti del territorio, in particolare di quello...non edificabile. In conseguenza della pressione umana è mutata anche la natura: boschi e animali sono generalmente più numerosi; fotografare volpi o cormorani è diventato un gioco da ragazzi, che non richiede particolari doti. E' cambiata infine la fotografia. In un batter d'occhio si è verificato il passaggio al digitale, con i grandi vantaggi che tutti conoscono, anche in termini economici. Macchine ed obiettivi supertecnologici non concedono il gusto né l'onore di fallire una sola foto; anche di fronte all'errore umano la tecnica non si da' per vinta e, sfoggiando hardware e software in perenne evoluzione, risolve anche il caso più compromesso. Beninteso, non intendiamo opporci al rinnovamento, ma semplicemente constatiamo che un mondo si è trasformato troppo in fretta, mettendo in pista dei conducenti inesperti, i quali, freschi di patente, si ritrovano nelle mani le chiavi delle "formula uno" della fotografia. Per questo vogliamo proporre uno scatto presente nel nostro primo libro. Un'immagine che forse oggi farà sorridere chi è nato nell'era digitale, chi non ha avuto il piacere di vivere l'esperienza nel mondo del materiale sensibile, ma, ne siamo certi, sarà apprezzata, come tutta la galleria in cui è stata inserita, da chi ha seguito il nostro stesso percorso. Immagini preziose che ci sono particolarmente care per l'impegno richiesto, in termini di tempo e di insuccessi, e soprattutto per l'incalcolabile piacere di averle realizzate esclusivamente con le nostre forze.
