at 120mm, 1/500 f/13.0, ISO 400, hand held. Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, Belgium.

La Bugatti Automobiles fu fondata dall'italiano Ettore Isidoro Arco Bugatti (1881 – 1947) nel 1909 a Molsheim… un comune dell'Alsazia… in Francia. La Type 35… visibile in questa fotografia… venne prodotta espressamente per gareggiare nel triennio 1924/26 in poco meno di 100 esemplari. Era dotata di un motore con 8 cilindri in linea di 1991 cm3 che erogando circa 100 cavalli di potenza permetteva alla vettura di raggiungere una velocità massima di circa 185 chilometri orari. Il cambio di velocità era dotato di 4 marce. Anche se la Type 35 venne costruita precedentemente... in questa mia elaborazione ho volutamente aggiunto i fari di colore giallo per ricordare che le lampadine dei fanali anteriori di tale colore vennero introdotte per la prima volta proprio in Francia nel 1939... e rimasero in uso fino al 1993. Attualmente i fari di colore giallo vengono ancora utilizzati... da regolamento... sulle vetture appartenenti ad alcune categorie meno veloci che partecipano a Campionati di Endurance tipo le gare della durata di 24 Ore che si corrono... in parte notte tempo... sui circuiti di Le Mans in Francia, al Nürburgring in Germania e a Spa-Francorchamps in Belgio. Il motivo è che quando durante le ore notturne un concorrente che gareggia su una vettura dotata di fari di colore giallo vede nel retrovisore dei fanali bianchi sa che potrebbe essere superato in quanto la vettura che ne è dotata è condotta da un concorrente appartenente ad una categoria più veloce della sua.
