Old railroad on the Naviglio Grande sent on March 10, 2013 (10:08) by Davide Prina. 12 comments, 1886 views. [retina]

at 24mm, 1 sec f/22.0, ISO 100, tripod.

Great shot, good composition and excellent backlighting without flare! Very apt the idea of ??the fence in perspective that makes accentuated the depth of field of 'f/22 for a focus total ... congratulations!

The subject you have chosen is not the most easy and you were very good at finding a composition very effective.
Compliments.
The sepia I like, what I'm not convinced it's all the rest of the post.
The lines do not show a horizontal or vertical serration impressive, quite annoying though less evident in the HD version, you've probably exceeded with the sharpening getting a stylized contours, may like but I really do not like very much.
Rivedrei the post, agree to a slight manipulation aims to give an antique feel to the scene but not exceed, there are no major sunburns on the sky, or poster-like effect, which degrade the image a lot from a technical standpoint.

Congratulations again to the composition, a really good exercise.

Thanks xi advice and criticism Beppe .. The image is JPEG, x hours not elaborate still raw, if I can have a good program I think to do so in the future, to work with files in jpeg post is to know that the quality stops at a certain level. The jagged lines you see are the result of excessive sharpness I wanted. At the time you do not notice but as soon as the file archives and review the Notice. I use the program windows live x do post-production and I really do not even know if I can be a valid support or not. The photo was also in a bit burned by the sun, I had a little meeting the polarizer which has softened the contrast. Finally, it was my first outing with the 6d full frame after years of 350d apc-s .. I noticed then that the viewfinder 6D (than however is a very good car) Having trouble reading light at the edges. You never stop learning.
Grx azie still your constructive criticism, formerly the detailed analysis! ;-)

Metal Dave, use the jpg with a camera is like using a LP with a Marshall MS2, with all due respect to the mini amp.
If we then put your hands above post pulling tones and color then you can not get that mess up.
Take only in raw and use Canon DPP, which is free to develop the raw, you will notice a huge improvement.

Try to think so, what attaccheresti than LP to make it sound like it deserves? ;-)

Reasoning realized on the fly! I will try to download the small program then, thanks Beppe! Ps that's a Yamaha, which we lock valve amp and distortion and makes it a pleasure but here we are going off topic! :-D

I forgot to tell you ...
for post production, after the development of Raw, you have to use programs decent, stay away from Windows Live.
To make the comparison with the music would be like using a good guitar (canon 6D) with a good tube (raw + development) and use the special effects for an android phone with an app to make music (Windows Live).

The best is Photoshop CS or Elements his version, but the former is expensive and complex, Gimp is a free alternative which is great but complex.

At first we need to invest a little 'time to learn how to develop good raw but once you understand the reason why raw is better and learn to manage the results are well worth widely.

I will have onggerito Canon DPP but the one I use is Lightroom, an Adobe program from affordable but very easy to use and very effective in the development of raw and beyond.

In short, the approach is like that of music, you have a great camera and it must follow a chain of tools to work at the file, otherwise it just does not make sense to purchase a SLR or ... a LP.

PS:
are not a metal fan, I have a Godin and a Ovation Legend LX ... and a Canon 7D by golly! :-)
PPS:
I had mistaken your Yamaha for a LP, I was referring to the example I had done.
But your guitar I did not recognize.
