Lozzo di Cadore fu da sempre paese ricco d'attività artigianali, parte delle quali s'insediarono lungo le sponde del Rio Rin. Nel 1766 a Lozzo vi erano: dieci ruote da mulino da grani, una sega da legname, un follo da panni di lana, sedici telari" da tela e cinque mole. Nella seconda metà del 1900 e in particolare in seguito all'alluvione del 1966, la maggior parte di questi opifici venne chiusa ed attualmente solo la centralina Baldovin Carulli del 1926, é tuttora in funzione con macchinari originali. A Lozzo di Cadore, oltre agli opifici lungo la roggia, si svilupparono varie attività produttive che interessarono diversi settori: vi era la vecchia latteria in centro e quella più recente in via Padre Marino, la fabbrica di cucine economiche fondata da Calligaro Valentino Scott, una falegnameria e officina specializzata nella costruzione di carri di Da Pra Fauro Giuseppe. Rilevante per la storia del paese sono anche le vecchie case in stile cadorino, tra cui casa Zanetti, salvatasi dall'incendio del 1867, la chiesa sconsacrata di San Lorenzo, la chiesetta di San Rocco dell'arch. Segusini e il santuario di Loreto, le numerose fontane e lavatoi distribuiti lungo le strade e nei crocevia, oltre all'altopiano dei Pian dei Buoi, luogo d'alpeggio e con le sue fortificazioni, luogo di memoria della prima guerra mondiale.
