Il paese di Quattro Castella prende il nome da quattro castelli che sorgono su altrettanti colli. Partendo da est si incontrano Monte Vetro, Bianello, Monte Lucio e Monte Zane. Probabilmente facevano parte del sistema difensivo settentrionale dei domini dei Canossa. Ad eccezione del Castello di Bianello, che sorge pressoché intatto, degli altri castelli non restano che pochi ruderi.

@Stefano: I posted it in bn as I wanted to enjoy experimenting with the conversion to bn after reading in a magazine some suggestions that I did not know and finally also on these pages some posts about this topic.
I do not hide that the landscape photos in bn have always fascinated me, also because having started photographing in '76 I grew up seeing and studying the photos of great authors of the bn (for us Reggiani for example Stanislao Farri, or Vasco Ascolini ... :-) )
