In deafening silence sent on February 14, 2021 (8:31) by Merak.dubhe. 18 comments, 714 views.

1/160 f/8.0, ISO 200, hand held.

The photo is painfully gorgeous.
Splendida because it returns so deeply and directly what is happening that it is as if I were present.
Solously because in my eyes what is happening is a nightmare is the horror of how man handles these very particular living beings.
The choice to present this monochrome document is expected.
Ciao
Claudio

A nice document. It is really a pity that we choose to deforest, ruining a beautiful natural environment.
A warm greeting
Paolo

Dear Stefania, Daniele, Stefano, I am very happy to find you here.... the mystery of this unpopular photo of mine, here four years old, remains inscrutable to me, that on the day of January 19 alone has received so much attention and comments.... boh...., but I repeat, I'm very happy about this :-) : hello, best regards to all of you, Giancarlo

Good evening Merak, this sadly beautiful photo makes me think of a friend, who claims that man is superior to all other creatures because he has the primacy of being the only one to grow vertically, directed towards the sky, unlike all the others who live and grow horizontally.
When I point out to him that others, much taller than us, grow vertically, he minimizes and changes the subject......
Perhaps those deforestations are a criminal way to maintain primacy...

:-) Thank you very much Goodcaptain and Trent'oss for the passages and your comments; ....... yes Thirty oss, I share your comment [interpreting "trees" instead of "others" as a typo :-) ] .... n a teacher for a lifetime, I would underline with a red ballpoint pen three seriously erroneous words: "superior", "creatures", "primacy"; and as a remedy for recovery the reading/meditation of a series of authors: Darwin; Lorenz; Mainardi; Monod; Edward Wilson; Stefano Mancuso [e.g. Bright Green: Sensitivity and Intelligence of the Plant World] ; (and not among those I haven't read yet but I will read: Grillo, The Silent Giants).....
Hi guys, a warm greeting, Giancarlo
