La Corniche 1° Serie è una vettura a 2 porte a passo corto e porta il 1971 come data di immissione sul mercato ma... questa vettura era già in vendita dal 1967 con la denominazione di Silver Shadow Coupé. Il cambio di denominazione fu effettuato per meglio distinguerla dalla Silver Shadow Berlina... che aveva il passo lungo ed era dotata di 4 portiere. Inizialmente il motore... che era un V8... era di 6230 cm3 poi nel 1969 la cilindrata aumentò a 6750 cm3 che portavano la vettura fino a 190 chilometri orari di velocità massima. Era dotata di un cambio automatico a tre velocità e venne prodotta sia in versione Cabriolet... questa nella fotografia... che in versione Coupé. La 1° Serie venne costruita fino al 1977 per poi proseguire in altre quattro Serie fino all'anno 2002. Il consumo di carburante dichiarato andava dai 15,6 litri per 100 chilometri nell'extraurbano e fino a 23,6 litri per percorrere 100 chilometri girando in città.
