La scultura della «Donna del lago» venne posizionata l'11 maggio 2008 sulla spiaggia che lambisce il nuovo lungolago «Antiche Rive», in omaggio alla storia e al lavoro delle salodiane. Fu donata da un salodiano generoso e innamorato del suo lago, Orazio Raggi, titolare della Sait, che pensò di regalare alla città una scultura che interpretasse lo spirito e la tradizione di quel tratto di costa, dove le donne era solite lavare i panni ed attendere i mariti pescatori di ritorno dal lago. L'opera, realizzata in bronzo dallo sculture salodiano Angiolino Aime, rappresenta, a grandezza naturale, una donna che volge lo sguardo alle acque, nella speranza forse di veder apparire la barca del marito, con al fianco una bimba e la «scagna», l'antico attrezzo che le donne gardesane usavano per lavare il bucato in riva al lago, oltre alla tipica «lavagna», il cesto in vimini per i panni.
