NGC 1055 è una galassia a spirale edge-on situata nella costellazione della Balena. La galassia ha un prominente rigonfiamento nucleare attraversato da una larga e scura corsia di polvere e gas. Distanza stimata circa 52 milioni di al. L'immagine è stata realizzata quasi totalmente dall'amico Michele Franci che ha realizzato una splendida luminanza. Io ho contribuito con la base colore.
