E' come a teatro. Lo spettacolo che va in scena per il pubblico è preparato dietro le quinte con un invisibile ma prezioso lavoro. Qui siamo al Mokala National Park, uno dei più giovani parchi nazionali sudafricani, vicino a Kimberly. Qui si incontrano, facendone un piccolo gioiello, le sabbie rosse del Kalahari, le rocce del Karoo e la vegetazione della savana. E' stato creato per la riproduzione di animali, in particolare alcuni tipi di antilope, che andranno poi a ripopolare parchi dai quali sono scomparsi. Qui è in corso la cattura di un gruppo di giraffe che saranno poi trasferite altrove. Con l'occasione si sono prelevati campioni di DNA e di sangue. E' un'operazione estremamente delicata e rischiosa per gli animali e organizzativamente molto complessa. Vi partecipano veterinari, rangers, volontari, pilota di elicottero, squadra a terra di decine di uomini e molti mezzi. Tutto va portato a termine in pochi minuti, pena la sopravvivenza dell'animale
