I like the idea of taking this slice backlight. Perhaps the focus on veins should be improved and the problem of some small overexposed areas to be solved. I think it is more suitable for the "still life" gallery than for "macro and flora".

Very nice this particular shot, halfway between the macro and the still life. Nice backlight and color, sharpening ok.

I agree with Nicola.
Neas to be improved:
-the parallelism between sensor plane and subject
-exposure avoiding obtaining burnt parts
-reflection on the plane (distracting element below left)
-detail ... closing the diaphragm
-la pdc ... then extending the area with detail over the entire surface of the slice
(imho)

In these backlights where the veins of the subject stand out considerably it is important to close the diaphragm more to have a greater PDC in order to obtain a better reading.
Reflex aside I would have sought better cleaning on the support plane by chlorinated at least what does not refer to the reflection.

Thank you for everyone's comments.
I agree it's actually a little out of focus. For sure having closed the diaphragm to F4 I would have achieved a better result.
The objective difficulty is using the Merrill, which seems to be in focus on its screen, but then on the monitor you realize that you have sung 3/4 of the shots.
I got the exposure with a stack held in my hand :-D not having a flash for this machine.
