A parte tutto si tratta di un comportamento che, tra leoni, in natura ( molto più spesso in zoo o ambienti ridotti ) sembra sia stato documentato davvero pochissime volte e così ne ho parlato anche con un amico che per anni ha fatto il ricercatore sul campo proprio studiando i leoni ed alla fine ci siamo dati una spiegazione che va al di là della reale omosessualità.
Un oretta prima avevamo trovato una coppia di leoni con il maschio che aveva una zampa ferita, poi a distanza di 1/2 Km abbiamo visto questi 2 bellissimi maschi che sonnecchiavano. Dopo 5 minuti si sono svegliati ed hanno iniziato a scambiarsi le classiche effusioni fino a quando uno dei si posizionato alle spalle ed ha chiaramente posseduto il compagno ( l' espressione del maschio sotto è eloquente...). Il rapporto è durato i soliti 10/20 secondi tipici dei leoni e poi, il maschio che stava sopra si allontanato dirigendosi verso un Kopjes a qualche centinaio di metri di distanza; successivamente, l' altro si alzato anche lui e zoppicando e soffrendo ha cercato di raggiungere il primo. La spiegazione dovrebbe stare proprio in questa menomazione dovata probabilmente alla lotta per la femmina con il maschio che avevamo incontrato in precedenza. All' interno di un gruppo di leoni, anche nel caso di 2 probabili fratelli o comunque di 2 leoni della stessa stazza come questi, ci sono sempre delle gerarchie piuttosto rigide per cui sono sempre in lotta... Il maschio sano probabilmente, approfittando della temporanea menomazione del compagno, ha voluto umiliare e sottomettere il compagno per prendere ed affermate la sua supremazia.
