Il mulattiere oramai è già per se un mestiere in via di estinzione e trovare un ragazzo che lo fa, e come trovare una mosca bianca. Perché è un mestiere durissimo dove la giornata inizia prima che sorga il sole e finisce al tramonto, dove uomini e animali sono portati allo stremo delle loro forze fisiche. E sempre più sono soppiantati da mezzi meccanici che col loro passaggio però alterano l'ambiente naturale, mentre coi muli è un passaggio e un rispettose la natura del tutto ecologico, purtroppo destinato a finire anche per questioni economiche.
