Nice nocturnal Gabriele! Is the church in the foreground Romanesque?
A greeting, Philip

Thank you Filippo, dear! The one in the foreground is the Romanesque Church of S. Pietro in Bosco. You see it on the right, about 1 kilometer, before arriving in Ala (coming from Verona). I added the caption...
A dear greeting.

Nice picture, Gabriele.
More than that, what amazes me is the story of Theodelinda and her meeting with her first husband Autari. Ancient history that I supposed to know well, being Pavese by birth, that is, in the capital city for over two centuries of the Lombard kingdom precisely in the period of regency of Theodelinda remained (or surrendered, helping the fate) widowed twice.
After a few chats, I'm happy to say goodbye and wish you a great weekend.

[QUOTAS] It is said..... that in this little church Theodelinda, daughter of the Duke of Bavaria Garibald, met her future husband Autari .
.... it is narrated... I'm going to stop here.
"Legend has it that the two promised met in Sardis here supra Veronam east near the Adige, a place identified in the church of San Pietro al Bosco near Ala. The marriage was then celebrated in Verona at the camp of Suardi on May 15, 589. This event was told by Paul the Deacon who cited the presence of relics donated by Queen Theodelinda to the church, in memory of this meeting". (Wikipedia).
Thane Paul of the nice comment :-)
Good Sunday.

Nice nocturnal, even the less illuminated areas are still visible. Beautiful illuminated churches. Interesting historical references. Greetings. Mc
