“Ferdinando Sanfelice, nobile architetto napoletano che curerà anche la costruzione del Palazzo dello Spagnuolo, nel 1724 decise di trasferirsi con tutta la famiglia lontano dal caotico ed insalubre centro ed optò per quello che allora era il luogo più pulito e tranquillo di tutta Napoli: la Sanità, appunto. Sanfelice comprò e rimise a nuovo un antico palazzo fatiscente, ma non si limitò solo ad una “ristrutturazione”: decise di costruirgli intorno un nuovo palazzo in grado di ampliarlo ed impreziosirlo, pur lasciando pressapoco intatta l'antica struttura.” P.S.: nella realtà, la scena era molto più buia...
