Lo Stabilimento Balneare venne progettato dall'architetto Rudolf Stualker, che disegnò un'ampia piattaforma su piloni immersi nell'acqua. La realizzazione fu affidata all'impresa di Giovanni Rutelli, figlio del noto scultore Mario Rutelli, la struttura venne decorata con volute, fregi, sculture, vetrate e colori vivaci, così da risultare elegante oltre che funzionale per i bagnanti. L'edificio, unico nel suo genere, è un opera architettonica in stile Art Nouveau
