Il Metato (gradezz in dialetto) è un essiccatoio per le castagne. Veniva utilizzato il legno come combustibile bruciato nell'ambiente a piano terra e le castagne poste su di un graticciato a circa 2.5 mt di altezza. La combustione del fuoco era controllata in continuazione, durante il giorno e anche di notte, da una persona esperta che praticamente viveva dentro e in prossimità dello stabile per tutta la durata dell'operazione, di circa 40 giorni. Questo in particolare è posto nel cortile del borgo, ma a volte venivano costruiti nel castagneto. Ormai sono quasi tutti in disuso. Erano molto importanti perchè da qui passava l'alimento di sostentamento più importante delle vecchie generazioni. Motivo per il quale tutte le operazioni erano eseguite e controllate con estrema cura.
