La Ferrari 375 MM fu costruita in soli 26 esemplari nel biennio 1953-54 nelle versioni Berlinetta e Spyder... codeste allestite dalla Carrozzeria Vignale e dalla Carrozzeria Pininfarina... come questa visibile nella fotografia... che poi non era una vera Spyder ma una Barchetta in quanto non aveva nessun tipo di capote a protezione dell'equipaggio in caso di maltempo. Era dotata di un motore progettato dall'ingegner Aurelio Lampredi e derivato da quello utilizzato nel Campionato di Formula 1 sulla Ferrari 375. Tale propulsore era un 12 cilindri a V di 60° con una cilindrata complessiva di 4522 cm3 erogante 340 cavalli che faceva raggiungere alla vettura quasi 290 chilometri di velocità massima. Dotata di telaio tubolare e carrozzeria in alluminio la 375 MM era stata progettata per il mondo delle corse e più precisamente per le gare di durata tipo la 24 Ore di Le Mans.
