LATERAN PACTS AND PHOTOGRAPHY sent on October 18, 2020 (11:19) by Maurizio Trifilidis. 58 comments, 1557 views.

, 1/6 f/8.0, ISO 64, tripod. Roma, Italy.

Dear Maurizio, in the Vatican there is the law, which is the same throughout this world. They have economic power, it is all that follows (even the things that they should not have, or do), so their attitude as Christians is just a farce like all the components that are part of it ......... and I don't add anything else. What about you... be careful to use the tripod, you could take advantage of an image .......
For shooting, at least they don't have it for you.... Forbidden.
Salutone Fabrizio :-P ;-) :-P

Gorgeous! Too bad that sometimes "various" issues disturb these magical atmospheres and who like you was there to experience them.
Cyo, Francis.

Nice shot.
The absurd ban on the use of the easel, even for amateur purposes, is widespread in many closed places. That it was also outdoors... :-(

Maurizio, the photo is beautiful and I really like it. What you say in the caption seems absurd to me... I will say no more because I am ignorant about it, but you have given me the opportunity to learn about it!
Ciao, Giorgio

A beautiful composition gives the right space to a sky that, just a few minutes earlier, was probably much more spectacular. I understand your disappointment, it often happens to us amateur photographers to come across similar situations. The photo however is well executed and deserves the compliments.

Nice image, despite the mishap.
Year-old problem is that of the occupation of public land with the tripod.
Often no one says anything, sometimes some more diligent guardian of the order, remembers these ancient norms.
Compliments for the truly beautiful image
A dear greeting

Excellent interpretation, very nice also for the particular sky. Congratulations. However, prosecuting photographers with the easel is much easier than prosecuting thieves with crowbars.

Thank you all very much.
To be precise...
on Italian soil the easel, when used by a photoaler for non-profit photographic activities is always lawful. The occupation of public land, which is sometimes recalled by staff who are not entirely competent, concerns only commercial activities.
The Vatican instead applies, and asks our police to enforce, the ban on easel throughout St. Peter's Square which is precisely the territory of the Papal States.

Mt, to be precise, in fact, on the territory of the Municipality of Rome the use of the tripod is not free, but subject to the payment of the public land occupancy fee for 1 square meter. I've never seen any watchman request a payment receipt... Only in front of the Trevi Fountain a diligent watchman did not allow me, not even asking me if I had the necessary authorization (evidently committing an abuse) not to open it ...
I know I was wrong, I didn't do any questions...

I understand the bitterness, the photo is still very beautiful.
