La SIATA (Società Italiana Auto Trasformazioni Auto Aviatorie) venne fondata a Torino nel 1926 da Giorgio Ambrosini e costruì ed elaboro automobili per uso sportivo fino al 1970... anno della cessazione dell'attività. La costruzione della 300 BC... come questa visibile nella fotografia... iniziò nel 1951 e ne furono allestite circa 50 unità. Quasi tutte le vetture vennero esportate negli Stati Uniti dove venivano dotate di un motore di 724 cm3 con 4 cilindri in linea con monoalbero a camme in testa erogante 55 cavalli di potenza prodotto dalla statunitense Crosley (Crosley Motors Incorporated) che faceva raggiungere alla vetturetta la velocità di circa 125 chilometri orari mentre le vetture vendute in Europa erano dotate di un propulsore Fiat di 1089 cm3 con 4 cilindri in linea erogante 51 cavalli di potenza. La carrozzeria era di tipo Barchetta... non avendo nessun tipo di capote a protezione dell'equipaggio in caso di maltempo come vedesi in questa fotografia scattata sotto un violento acquazzone... ed era stata progettata da Mario Revelli de Beaumont... designer ed ex pilota motociclistico... e costruita dalla carrozzeria di Nuccio Bertone a Torino. La vettura qui fotografata è condotta dalla pilota californiana... con origini italiane... Sylvia Maria Antonietta Oberti che gareggia sempre da sola dal 1992... con solo Angelino... un piccolo orsetto di peluche come portafortuna. Tramite un accordo con alcuni sponsor americani... per ogni chilometro che percorre... riceve una somma di denaro che poi devolve ad associazioni benefiche che principalmente si occupano di bambini ricoverati nei reparti di oncologia. A seguito del suo spiccato e continuo senso filantropico ed umanitario... nell'anno 2015... venne ricevuta a colloquio in Vaticano da Papa Giovanni Paolo II.
