Gli ultimi turisti transitano sul sentiero di ritorno da un abbondante pranzo al rifugio; tra i bambini da trascinare, il cane da richiamare e le solite discussioni che riguardano già il lavoro della settimana entrante, non si accorgono che poco a monte, un flebile canto agita crocieri e cince. Non è il solito richiamo della civetta che siamo abituati ad ascoltare in autunno; almeno, per me è nuovo. Immagino possa trattarsi di una femmina. Non resisto e vado a vedere. Tra le chiome assisto ad un inseguimento fatto di rapidi voli e sbatter d'ali. Come per i bambini che giocano a nascondino la civetta deve cercare una posizione sicura, ma i silvani non le danno tregua. Senza accorgermene mi ritrovo a ridosso di alcune cavità ricavate su vecchi abeti bianchi e la piccola civetta, che sembra attratta da quella zona, segnala a tratti la sua posizione che par'essere sempre più prossima. “ Adesso canta da molto vicino… Ma dov'è???? “
