La Maserati Gran Cabrio fu prodotta dal 2009 al 2019 nello stabilimento sito in Modena e rappresentava la versione "aperta" della Maserati Gran Turismo. Disponeva di quattro comodi posti e di un tettuccio in tela ripiegabile elettricamente. Questa soluzione venne adottata per avere il baule posteriore libero e quindi utilizzabile... cosa che non sarebbe rimasta tale se si fosse adottato un tettuccio rigido ripiegabile come su altre vetture simili a lei. Inizialmente dotata di un motore V8 a 90°di 4200 cm3 dotato di distribuzione bialbero in testa e 4 valvole per cilindro erogante 405 cavalli di potenza... tale propulsore venne poi sostituito da un simile V8 di 4691 cm3 erogante da 440 a 460 cavalli in base alle differenti versioni. I motori sono sempre stati di tipo aspirato mentre il cambio di velocità poteva essere di tipo automatico oppure a 6 marce più retromarcia. In totale della Maserati Gran Cabrio... nelle diverse versioni... dovrebbero essere state prodotte 11.715 vetture. Questa versione "Sport Nerissimo Edition" della Maserati Gran Cabrio... visibile in fotografia... fu prodotta nel biennio 2018-2019. La potenza del suo motore V8 era di 460 cavalli che le facevano raggiungere i 288 chilometri orari di velocità massima.
